It is with sadness that I have to inform you that one of the prominent researchers and lectures in statistical science, Peter Hall, passed away at the age of 64, on January 9th, 2016. I express my sincere condolences to his family, our colleagues and members of both the Australian and the Iranian Statistical Societies. Professor Hall made important contributions to the numerous applications of statistics in various fields as biological science, engineering and economics. Some of his work on probability theory as stochastic geometry and spatial processes have been well received by many researchers of the field.
May God rest his soul in peace and give strength to his family to bear this immense loss.
